Aabaco is the new Yahoo, and I say "Boo hoo".

Well, I’m not happy. One of my websites is not up and running due to cancellation for non payment. I have had this site through Yahoo since 2006 and had monthly debit from my bank account since then. I don’t look at this site often because it’s more of a directory site that hopefully doesn’t require my constant overview.

I entered the domain name in the browser and got a message: “This site can’t be reached”. I knew from my past communications with tech support that Yahoo was sold to Aabaco so I was prepared to speak to very nice people from India which I’ve come to understand about 95% of the time. After going through several channels last night I spoke with someone for about an hour. I was told that the issue had been “escalated” on their end but my thoughts were that they were reading my mind.

I called them tonight after seeing that my site still did not show in the browser and is still down. The explanation that I got (but didn’t understand) is that because the site had been cancelled they have to change over the domain name and when that is done then they will get back to me but they could not offer any time frame as to when this would be done.

I asked why when they had my alternate email, and phone number that they did not contact me in every way possible before they canceled my site. This person could only state “what was in her notes” and this answer wasn’t there.

I really didn’t want to have to take the time to learn WordPress because Yahoo site-builder is so easy to use, but having my site cancelled without a concerted effort on Aabaco’s part to reach me and now to have to wait further, has me looking for options.
